TonArt, the choir of the music school of the city of Jülich, once again invites you to its traditional Advent concert in the Propsteikirche Jülich. As in previous years, the choir will be accompanied by an orchestra and will present a particularly beautiful performance, both musically and atmospherically.

Please add your name to the waiting list. Last year, we were able to fill 70 reservations from the waiting list.

Concertgoers can look forward to a diverse repertoire that includes songs from different eras and styles. Traditional chorales such as “Nun freut euch, ihr Christen” (Now rejoice, ye Christians) and the well-known “Lo, how a Rose” bring the long history of Advent music to life. Contemporary works such as “The Ground” and “Lichter der Weihnacht” (Lights of Christmas) create a modern tone, while pieces such as “In the bleak midwinter” and “Love came down at Christmas” unfold a special, contemplative depth. International facets are provided by, among others, the Swedish Christmas carol “Jul, jul, strålande jul” and the lively jazz number “Yule be swinging.” Gospels and spirituals such as “All my trials” and “Down to the river to pray” also enrich the program. The choir thus offers a musical journey through different times, languages, and moods, making the whole diversity of Advent music audible.

The number of visitors is limited. We strongly recommend reserving a seat in good time before the concert.
